Kjartan Slette was former Head of Music and Head og Strategy in the music streaming service WiMP, now recently launched globally under the name Tidal as the first HiFi lossless global streaming service. In WiMP Kjartan was responsible for all contract negotiations with the music labels as well as right holders, in addition to acting as the public figure for WiMP in industry settings. In WiMP Kjartan also launched RADR Music News, a VEVO/Youtube competitor that brings fully licensed ad fuelled music videos to online domains, where ad revenues are shared with the publishers.
With Norway and Scandinavia being the most advanced music technology markets in the world, Kjartan feels there is a potential to capitalize on this opportunity by helping local initiatives launch globally and inviting global initiatives to Norway to learn. Recently, Kjartan launched his own company, Unacast, which solves the ad industry problem of online retargeting based on offline behavior. With experience from his own startups, Kjartan wants to help new ideas within music and tech to succeed on a global scale through MashUP.
